Modern Wave has been in existence for over 35 years.
Our motto at Modern Wave is “Doing downtown hair at a neighborhood price”. We have always used top of the line products such as Redken, L'Oreal, and Pureology.

Modern Wave is an Exclusive Redken Salon. This title was achieved with hard work and dedication by the entire staff. What this means for current and future guests’ is that they are guaranteed trendy and current styles.
The service providers are allowed to participate in classes that are held by distinguished artists who come into the salon and allow us to have a more hands-on experience. The staff also attends in-person classes of guest artist.

Our Story
Modern Wave is now second-generation owned. Our previous owner, Ted Arcienega retired after 40 years in the industry. We've been lucky enough to have Ted mentor many hairstylists including one of our owners. We are a mother-and-daughter-owned salon. Having both grown up in the Bridgeport neighborhood and being long-time patrons of Modern Wave Salon, it's grown to become more. Modern Wave is more than a salon to us, it’s family, from the staff, to clients.
